Speaking at the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport Africa Forum in 2022, H.E. Wamkele Mene emphasises the critical role of efficient logistics and trade facilitation in unlocking the full potential of the AfCFTA. He notes that while the agreement creates a single market of over 1.4 billion people, its success depends on the seamless movement of goods across borders.
He highlights persistent challenges, including high transport costs, infrastructure gaps, and border inefficiencies, which continue to hinder intra-African trade. Addressing these barriers, he underscores the importance of coordinated policy implementation, investment in transport and logistics infrastructure, and stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors. #AfCFTA#OneAfrica#CreatingOneAfricanMarket
